Subject: Legislative update

OK, I wanted to again thank all  the Brothers and Sisters for their support at convention raising some much needed PAC funding. As session is coming to a close, we have been freaking hosed by a Chairman that wont hear our Bill. Props to Grant and Shaun that have put in a ton of time working both sides to get a vote. And with that, we had the votes locked up, it ended with Hartgen in the House that would not hear our Bill. I am looking for a few people to review our legislation this summer and see if there are any changes we can make. I am want to make sure that our emotions stay away from the Best Bill Possible. We have done a great job of making sure our Labor Rights don't go away and PERSI is still good. We have been part of multiple legislation this year from the taxes to fire dist law.All have worked very well for us.

 If anyone has any ideas for Bills next session, please let us know asap. We want to start early this year. Also, Fire OPS 101. We have 5 that are going that I have worked on, so if you know of anyone, let me and the E-Board know asap.

We should be done the first week of April with Session. I am bummed that we did not get our Bill passed, but on the flip side we have made great new relationships and nothing has been lost. Please contact you legislatures for ride-a-longs and whatever else. We will be traveling this year to your Local Union Meetings to try and drum up PAC support. We also want to start having quarterly PAC and Legislative meetings. I hope you all have a great Spring Break.
